Galway County Council has announced the details of free parking this year to encourage shopping in county towns in the run up to Christmas.
From Friday, November 26 there will be free parking in Ballinasloe, Loughrea, Tuam, Clifden, Cleggan, Athenry, and Gort.
These parking concessions will last for the remainder of the month, and through all of December.
This is to facilitate and encourage footfall in the regional towns during the Christmas shopping period.
The concessions will apply to on and off street council parking in the towns named.
