Calls have been made for an urgent review of the safety measures in place at the Martin Junction under construction.
Councillor Alan Cheevers said that the city council and contractors need to review the junction’s safety after an accident involving two cars on Sunday evening.
“No one was injured in the accident, but what it shows is the junction, while at construction stage, is not safe and needs urgent safety measures implemented.”
He added that many residents and commuters have also raised this issue, as well as him.
“This is now an urgent issue that needs to be addressed before we have a fatality,” Alan Cheevers said.
