Six streets in Loughrea will be closed over a period of nearly three months, with significant traffic disruption expected.
Galway County Council has announced that road closures will be in place for Moore Street, Pigott’s Street, Church Street, Kings Street, Kelly Street, and Castle Street from October to December.
The streets will be closed off individually, not at the same time, to allow Uisce Eireann to replace water mains in the town.
The road closures will be in effect from 9am to 5pm each day, Monday to Friday, while the works are taking place.
Diversion routes will be in place for the duration of the works.
