Tesco Ireland has today opened the doors of its newest store at Ballybane after the store was closed for renovations.

The shop, which measures just over 7,000 square foot, was officially opened by store manager and Mervue native Patricia Rabbitte.

Patricia said that this is an exciting day for her and the entire team in Ballybane.

She said they are really looking forward to welcoming the community back with open arms, and they hope that customers will enjoy their shopping experience in the new store.

“We are delighted to be open for business after a busy period of preparations, and it’s great to see customers coming through the doors.”

Local suppliers such as All About Kombucha, Butler Bread and Galway Potatoes are among a wide range of producers whose products can be found on the shelves of the Ballybane store.

The Ballybane store Community Fund will support the local area with donations to three local causes in its first campaign, these include Galway Hospice, Friends of Rosedale School and Galway Sick Kids Foundation.
