Storm Franklin: Over 2,700 homes in Galway without electricity

There are more than 2,700 properties in Galway suffering from electricity outages this evening as Storm Franklin continues to sweep across the west.

The largest single fault the ESB is dealing with in Galway is a power outage affecting 1,280 homes and business in the Ballygar area.

There are a further 476 properties without electricity in Carraroe, and 413 in the Tuam area.

In Headford there are 304 homes without electricity, as well as 246 in the Clifden area.

Finally, power outages are affecting 16 properties in Oughterard and another 13 Spiddal.

Galway is currently under a Status Orange wind warning for Storm Franklin, which will remain in place until 3am tomorrow morning.
