Traffic in Oranmore is being disrupted by a stop and go system in place today to allow for ongoing repairs a week after a major burst water main forced a road closure.

The stop and go system is in place near the railway tracks on the Claregalway road while Irish Water are carrying out further repairs.

A serious burst water main on the Claregalway road last Thursday forced the road to close for several hours while repairs were made.

The county council has advised motorists that the traffic management system will be in place until 4pm this afternoon while work is ongoing.
