Silverstrand Beach will remain closed next week in order to complete works that started two weeks ago.
Galway City Council confirmed that the access road will remain closed to pedestrians and cyclists, and access to the beach for swimming and other water-based activities is not permitted.
Essential repairs have been taking place at the beach since Monday, February 15.
It was hoped that the repairs would be completed by this Monday, March 1, however the works will continue in the first week of March.
Galway City Council will provide an update next week on the status of Silverstrand Beach.
