Dunlo Street in Ballinasloe will be closed to traffic for almost seven months to allow for works on the street and water infrastructure.

A notification was issued by Galway county council for the road closure from 7:30am on April 1 through to 6pm on Saturday, September 21.

The road closure is to facilitate Ballinasloe Water Services Upgrade and Street Enhancement Works.

The works will be carried out in two main stages on Dunlo Street North (Phase 3C) and Dunlo Street South (Phase 3D).

In order to minimise the effect only one stretch of the road will be closed at a time going by each stage where work is taking place.

Motorists who would normally travel on Dunlo street are advised to divert via Harris Road, Jubilee Street, Dunlo Hill, St. Michael’s Square, Main Street and Society Street.
