Galway Hospice has warned that there are people calling door-to-door in the county purporting to be raising funds in aid of the hospice.
Galway Hospice says that it does not permit or support door-to-door collections at any time.
In a statement, Galway Hospice said that if someone calls to their door that they do not know collecting for the hospice, “please do not donate.”
If this happens, people are urged to contact their local Garda Station immediately with a description of the person collecting.
A number of fundraising events are held by Galway Hospice throughout the year, such as its Sunflower Days street collections, which could not take place for the past two years due to the pandemic.
The fundraiser asks people to sponsor a sunflower in memory of a loved one and donations can be made online at https://sunflowerdays.togetherforhospice.ie/donation/
