Galway Daily news Council orders car parks closed ahead of Storm Isha hitting Galway City

Galway City Council has closed the two main car parks in Salthill in order to reduce the number of visitors to the Prom and help social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Salthill car park on the Promenade was closed from Monday evening, and Toft car park is closed as of today.

The council said that that this move is being made both to reduce visitor numbers to the area and to aid in social distancing.

The city council recently installed new painted signage on the ground along the Prom in order to show people the proper distance they should be maintaining to limit the possibility of spreading Covid-19.
