Roadworks on the N84 will disrupt traffic from Ballindooley Cross to Headford for up to eight weeks starting from Monday.
The roadworks are to enable the laying of fibre optic cables along the national road.
Work will get underway on the N84 on September 23 from Ballindooley Cross to Cor an Dola Cross before proceeding on towards Headford.
According to the county council the works are expected to take 6-8 weeks to complete.
A traffic management plan will be in place for the duration of the works.
