Road closures are in place near Gort today and tomorrow in order to facilitate the Lough Cutra Castle triathlon.
The Lough Cutra Castle triathlon got underway at 8am this morning, with athletes taking to the lake and grounds in multiple different races.
In order to facilitate this event, the county council has closed a section of the R458 between the castle and Gort.
A 3km stretch of the road is closed to the left and right of the castle’s main entrance, and due south of Gort.
The road closure will be in place today and tomorrow in order to facilitate these events.
The period of the closure will be from 8am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
