Galway Daily news Planning permission extended to build 113 houses in Moycullen

An extension of duration has been granted to planning permission for a housing development just outside Loughrea.

Leedlane Ltd previously received approval for a 76 unit housing development of 52 semi-detached houses, 8 detached houses, and 16 terraced houses.

The estate at Tullagh Upper townland outside Loughrea will also include a creche and two commercial terraced units.

Galway county council first granted planning permission for this estate on March 23, 2009.

This is the second extension sought to planning permission after one was granted before on April 29, 2014.

Work began on the housing estate last August and a number of site works have progressed since then.

A report compiled by Clarke Construction Design Ltd details that excavation of the grounds have been completed, and 1,585m² of roadway have been laid.

In addition foundations are in place for 42 houses,  14 houses have been built to a hollowcore level, and 6 houses have been completed to the roof level.

Galway county council decided to grant the extension to planning permission, which will now expire on December 21, 2021.
