A pedestrian was brought to University Hospital Galway in serious condition after a collision involving a van yesterday.

A woman in her 30s suffered serious injuries after a collision involving a van in Roscommon on Thursday.

The incident happened at approximately 5:30pm yesterday on the Knock Road, Castlerea in Co. Roscommon.

The pedestrian was first brought to UHG with serious injuries, before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of those injuries.

The driver of the van was uninjured.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who were travelling in the area at the time and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
