Community organisations of every shape and size across Galway city and county will benefit from more than €600,000 in funding announced this week.
Galway West TD Seán Kyne has confirmed that €606,816 in grants will be allocated to 122 groups in Galway under the Community Enhancement Programme.
The funding will be used by community and not-for-profit groups for purchasing equipment, improving infrastructure, and procuring resources essential to their work.
In Galway county 78 projects will receive €378,937 while 44 groups in Galway city have been allocated €227,879.
The Community Enhancement Programme gives backing to groups of every kind, from sports clubs, and community centres to art galleries and disability support groups.
It is administered by a Local Community Development Committee in each council area.
Equipment and resources obtained through the funding include equipment for IT , first-aid and health and safety, facilities such as kitchens, workshops, grounds, and offices.
