There are more than 80 patients on trolleys in Galway’s public hospitals this morning INMO figures show.
University Hospital Galway is the second most overcrowded in Ireland with 72 patients on trolleys today.
There are 55 people admitted to the emergency department at UHG on trolleys, and another 17 in the wards with no bed available.
At Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe, there are a further 10 patients going without beds.
Two of these patients are on trolleys in the emergency department, and another eight are in the hospital wards.

University Hospital Limerick (94) is the worst affected, followed by Cork Unversity Hospital (73), University Hospital Galway (72), and Letterkenny University Hospital (36).
