Galway Daily news SHundreds of homes remain without power in Galway after severe weather

Power outages have left over 200 homes and businesses in the Glenamaddy area without electricity this afternoon.

There are currently four separate faults in the Glenamaddy area which are affecting the electricity supply to 212 properties.

The ESB is currently estimating that repairs to these faults will be completed by 3:45pm this afternoon.

There is also an outage reported in Ballinasloe, which has left 38 properties without power.

Galway is currently under a Status Orange weather warning for Storm Aiden, with winds reaching mean speeds of 85km/hr expected this afternoon.

Donegal, Galway, Mayo, Sligo and Clare may also experience gusts reaching up to 130km/hr today Met Eireann has said.

The Orange weather warning for Storm Aiden will be in force until 4pm on Saturday afternoon.
