Galway daily news NUI Galway Students' Union invites applications to benefit from annual charity fund

NUI Galway‘s Students’ Union is accepting applications from charities who wish to become beneficiaries of its 2018/2019 fundraising campaign.

Last year, students taking part in cake sales, table quizzes, comedy gigs, pet farm visits, collections, Croagh Patrick climbs, and a special Christmas Day organised by the SU raised €20,500 for charity.

All proceeds from the 2017/2018 charity fund were donated to the two charities nominated by the Students’ Union: Domestic Violence Response and Amach! lgbt+ support charity.

Megan Reilly, President of the Students’ Union is feeling positive about the year’s fundraising ahead.

“Despite the constant cutbacks and daily challenges we all face, NUI Galway students have a very proud tradition of raising money for charities. This year we hope to raise even more money for good causes.”

All applications to be a part of the 2018/2019 Charity Fund must be in by 5pm on Wednesday September 5.

Application forms can be found on the SU website.

The SU advises that any canvassing will automatically see a charity disqualified from the selection process.
