Galway Daily news Applications open for NUIG SU charities fund

The Students Union at NUI Galway is accepting applications from charities which wish to be considered as beneficiaries from next year’s fundraising campaign.

Last year students at NUIG took part in cake sales, table quizzes, a Christmas jumper party, comedy gigs, pet farm visits and collection days, raising a total of €11,500 for charities in the process.

All of the money raised from these events was donated to the two Students’ Union nominated charities for 2018/19 – Galway Rape Crisis Centre and COPE Galway.

Clare Austick, SU President said, “Despite the constant cutbacks and daily challenges we all face, NUI Galway students have a very proud tradition of raising money for charities. This year we hope to raise even more money for good causes.”

Application forms for the 2019/20 fund are available here: NUIG SU Charity Application Form 2019 and the closing date for applications is 5pm Wednesday, September 4. Please note that any canvassing will automatically disqualify your charity from this process.
