Work on a new X-ray unit in Tuam Primary Care Centre is due to be completed by the end of next month.
County Cllr Donagh Killilea requested an update on the timeline of the installation and operation of the new X-ray unit at a meeting of the Regional Health Forum this week.
The new unit is located at Tuam Primary Care Centre, and the final cost will be an estimated €1.64 million.
The project involves converting an existing GP suite into a new diagnostics suite, and an office into an audiology and observation room.
Work on the project got underway last August, and is currently due to be completed by the end of March 2024.
It is expected that services will commence shortly after that point.
The project has previously been criticised for its slow delivery timetable, with funding first secured in 2017.
It was previously anticipated that the unit would be operational by the end of 2023, but in September that date was pushed back to this year.
