New Galway Lidl store to open doors to customers next week

The new Lidl store in Knocknacarra will open its doors to customers next Thursday, 24 March.

The store in the Galway city suburb will create over 30 permanent jobs, and sees a local investment of more than €13 million.

The new Lidl has a 1,546sqm shop floor with high ceilings and wide aisles, as well as a large bakery area with freshly baked breads and pastries.

The Knocknacarra Lidl store manager Pauline McLoughlin said that they are looking forward to opening the doors next week.

“The store will offer customers an even better shopping experience with its spacious design, ample parking and sustainability features throughout,” said Pauline.

“The new store will be a positive addition to the local area of Knocknacarra making our fantastic range of top-quality produce available at the best possible prices. We look forward to welcoming customers next week.”

The new environmentally friendly Knocknacarra store, with roof mounted solar panels and will be powered by 100% green renewable electricity as part of its 50001 ISO certified energy management system.

It is an excellent example of Lidl’s leadership in the sustainable building field providing free EV charging points to customers.

Knocknacarra Lidl opening times

Lidl’s new Knocknacarra store will be open daily: Monday – Saturday 8:00am – 10:00pm, and Sunday 9:00am – 9:00pm.
