Buttons ‘n’ Bows Childcare Centre in Moylough is planning to expand its facilities to better supply its in demand local services.
Buttons ‘n’ Bows Childcare Centre is seeking planning permission for a two storey extension to the existing creche in The Orchard, Moylough.
The existing two storey creche opened in was built in 2005, and now needs more space to provide top quality to service to the children it looks after.
The planned extension is a two storey addition with a 74m² floor space to the rear of the existing building according to the planning documentation from APS Consulting.
“The positioning and design of the proposed extension have been carefully considered in order to minimise the risk of any potential impacts on the surrounding residential area while the small ground floor footprint will reduce the impact on the existing outdoor play area.”
It’s intended that the new ground space will be used an extension to the existing sleep room for the children and additional storage space.
While the new upstairs area in the childcare centre will contain a dedicated afterschool room for homework.
“The proposed extension is being provided in order to accommodate the existing range of services being provided in the creche.”
A separate planning application is also in the works to change the use of an adjacent enclosed garden to an outdoor play area.
Galway county council is due to make a decision on this application by May 20.
