Motorcyclist airlifted to UHG after serious crash

A motorcyclist was airlifted to University Hospital Galway after a serious crash involving his bike and a car on Tuesday.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a traffic collision Shannonbridge, Co. Offaly yesterday afternoon.

The crash, involving a motorcycle and a car, occurred at approximately 3:45pm on Tuesday.

A male motorcyclist in his late 20s was airlifted to University Hospital Galway in serious condition following the crash.

The driver and sole occupant of the car, a woman in her 60s, was uninjured following the crash.

The road was closed and local diversions put in place for a Forensic Examination to take place on Wednesday morning.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.

They are also appealing to road users who were travelling in Shannonbridge between 3p.m. and 4p.m. with camera footage (including dash cam), to make it available to them.
