Galway County Council has granted more time for the completion of the new courts for Ballinasloe & District Tennis Club.
The council granted an unconditional extension of planning permission originally granted in 2017.
The planning permission is for four open air tennis courts, along with car parking facilities, an access road, and other site works at Dunlo, Ballinasloe.
To date, three tennis courts have been built by the club, with the original approval expiring in May of this year.
The project was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and work that was meant to start in 2019 didn’t get underway until early 2021.
The county council approved extending the original planning permission for an additional two years.
