More than 2,500 homes and businesses in Galway city and county are being affected by multiple power outages in the wake of poor weather conditions.

ESB crews are dealing with fifteen separate power outages across Galway with severe weather still coming in the aftermath of Storm Clair.

A Status Orange wind warning remains in force in Galway until 8pm this evening, with winds gusting up to 130km/hr cautioned by Met Eireann.

The single largest outage in Galway is in Headford, where 1,349 properties are currently without electricity.

Claregalway is experiencing four separate power outages which are affecting a combined total of 542 homes and businesses.

Other outages are affecting 10 premises in Ballinrobe, 20 in Curra, 117 in Athenry, 141 properties in Glenamaddy, and 148 homes and businesses in Clifden.

In Galway City the issues are divided between a fault in the Salthill area which is only affecting 30 homes, and multiple outages in Ballybrit Business Park affecting 182 properties.
