A government minister has visited Craughwell National School, which urgently needs upgraded according to one East Galway TD.

Minster Ciaran Cannon welcomed the visit of Minister Kevin Boxer Moran to the school today, and said that he has committed to working to ensure the school’s upgrade all the way to “the handing over of the keys”.

The Galway East TD invited Minister Moran  to visit Craughwell NS “so that he could see for himself why the school urgently needs to be upgraded”.

Speaking after the visit, Minister Cannon said: “Mr Cormac O’Brien, Chairman of the Board of Management, gave the Minister a tour of the school and I’m very pleased to say that following his visit and inspection of the school premises, Minister Moran has convened a meeting of OPW architects for the 22 July so that they can provide a definitive timeline for the project, all the way through to completion.

“The Minister has also committed to giving me and the Board of Management regular updates so that the project cannot fall behind again with the very encouraging statement from Minister Moran that he will work with us all the way to “the handing over of the keys.”
