Approval has been given to refurbish  significant portion of industrial space at Mervue Business Park by demolishing defunct and vacant facilities.

Novelty ICAV applied to Galway city council for permission to carry out the demolition of multiple extensions to the rear of industrial units 20 – 24 at Mervue Business Park.

Building that are set to be levelled include “low quality and redundant” offices, storage facilities, a defunct plant and two tanks which will free up 7,400m² of industrial space for development according to the planning documents.

Other works that will be involved in the project include the creation of new entrance areas to the front and rear of the site, alterations to the roof lighting at the main building, and ancilliary site works.

Galway city council granted planning permission for the demolition works with two conditions attached.
