One man was arrested in connection with a €127k drugs seizure in Athenry over the Bank Holiday weekend.
As part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the region, Gardaí in Co. Galway have seized cannabis and cocaine worth approximately €127,000.
A search was carried out at a residential property at Cahercrin, Athenry, at 10:15am on Friday, February 7.
During the course of the search, Gardaí recovered a quantity of cannabis with an estimated street value of €90,000 and cocaine worth around €37,000.
The drugs seized will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
A man (aged in his 30s) was arrested and detained at a Garda Station in Co Galway under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. He has since been released without charge pending further investigations.
