Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe continues to be very overcrowded today, with a large number of patients on trolleys.
There are 31 patients in Portiuncula without a bed today, INMO figures show, a very high level for the hospital.
Of these, there are 19 patients on trolleys in the emergency departments, and 12 waiting for a bed in the wards.
This is the fourth highest level of overcrowding in all of Ireland’s hospitals today, and worse than UHG.
At University Hospital Galway there are 22 patients waiting for a bed, 21 in the ED and one in the wards.
There are a total of 564 patients on trolleys on Irish hospitals today, INMO Trolley/Ward Watch figures show.
