An interfaith memorial service will be held to support families experiencing grief on Thursday, 2 March at 7pm in the Ardilaun House Hotel in Galway City.
Hosted by Galway University Hospitals’ End of Life Care Committee, the annual service provides a spiritual space to support families in a supportive and empathetic environment.
It will also be an opportunity to meet other families and staff members who have shared the same journey.
Anne McKeown, End of Life Care Coordinator at GUH, explained that the theme for this year’s service is Le Chèile (together).
The service will be led by hospital staff who will share a selection of readings and reflections and songs.
“Galway University Hospitals cares for patients from a wide geographical area and we want to reach out and acknowledge the loss felt by all families and friends who have been bereaved,” said Anne McKeown.
“We hope that the bereaved will take some solace in knowing that their loved one has not been forgotten.”
