House prices in Co. Galway are over 14% higher than they were this time last year, the latest Daft.ie report shows.
The average house listing in the county is now €234,870, a 14.3% year-on-year increase, while prices in the city are 3% higher than last year at €316,000.
A one bedroom apartment in Galway City is on average €130,000, while a three bed semi-detached house is €250,000.
The average listing for a four bedroom bungalow in the city is €422,000.
Elsewhere in the county, the average price for a one bedroom apartment is €80,000, while it is 149,000 for a three bed semi and €294,000 for a four bedroom bungalow.
“With Ireland registering population growth and net migration even during the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic, and with strong evidence of suppressed household formation, demand for housing is set to remain strong well past the short- and medium-term and into the middle of the century,” said Ronan Lyons, Associate Professor in Economics at Trinity College Dublin.
