Planning permission has been granted for a new housing estate to the south of Clifden town.
Acton MR Construction Ltd have been given approval for a residential development of 28 houses at Ardbear, Clifden.
Planning permission was granted for the housing estate by the county council subject to 30 conditions.
The developer must pay a contribution of €124,674 to the county council towards the provision of public services in the area.
The 28 detached houses will comprise 7 four-bed units, 18 three-bed units, and 3 two-bed units.
The site off the estate is a 3.75ha plot of undeveloped land on the Clifden-Ballyconneely Road.
The estate will be served by 56 total car parking spaces, two per houses, along with four bike racks.
Upgrade works to the access point onto the Clifden-Ballyconneely R341 road will also be carried out as part of the project.
