University Hospital Galway is the second most overcrowded hospital in the country today according to INMO figures.
There were a total of 50 patients waiting with no bed available at UHG this morning, 49 of them on trolleys in the emergency department, and one in the wards.
At Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe there are a further 13 people on trolleys, nine of them in the ED and four in the wards.
The INMO’s Trolley/Ward Watch figures show that there were a total of 461 patients on trolleys in Irish hospitals this morning.
The worst affected was University Hospital Limerick, as usual, where there are 78 patients without a bed.
