General Podiatry services will be available at Tuam Primary Care Centre from later this summer, Galway TD Seán Canney has said.
Deputy Canney said that the HSE has confirmed to him that a dedicated chiropodist / podiatrist will be in place at the Primary Care Centre from July.
He added that this service will meet the needs of patients on the Tuam, Athenry and Loughrea Community Health Network, and that it is important that it gets up and running with no further delay.
“It is very necessary for patients to be able to travel a short distance for treatment rather than having to travel to Galway city.”
Deputy Canney said that “now more than ever”, it is important that these primary healthcare services are available locally, and that the PCC reaches its full potential.
