There have been no confirmed cases of Monkeypox reported in Galway as of yet according to the latest HPSC report.

The latest weekly report shows that there have been a total of 126 confirmed cases of the virus in Ireland to date.

Of these, none have occurred in the CHO2 area of Galway, Mayo, and Roscommon.

More than 65% of Monkeypox cases in Ireland to date have been in CHO7 and CHO9 in the Greater Dublin Area.

The date for this report came from cases notified on the Computerised Infectious Disease Reporting (CIDR) system up to midnight, August 20.

More than 70% of cases have been among people aged from 25 to 44, and eleven cases have seen patients hospitalised.

Of those admitted to hospital, five were admitted for clinical care related to the virus, two were in for isolation purposes only, and information was still awaited on four patients.
