The HSE is progressing with plans to reinstate child psychology services for the Headford and Lackagh primary care service area.
Galway East TD Seán Canney said that he has received confirmation that approval has been given for a permanent post to be filled.
Approval was given for the new hiring last December, and the HSE has said that they are now “actively working” to fill the post on a permanent basis.
“I welcome this progress as these services are vital for children in need of same. It is intolerable at any level not to have these services available”.
“I now call on the HSE to progress the appointment and reinstate the service without any further delay”.
