Galway City Council is organising a day for households in the city to dispose of hazardous waste such as paints or old medicines.
The hazardous waste disposal day will take place the weekend after next, on Saturday, November 13.
The event will take place at Ballybrit Racecourse from 8:30am until 3:30pm that afternoon.
Only the following items will be accepted at the collection:
- Paint, paint cans
- Adhesives
- Old medicines
- Pesticides, Insecticides, Herbicides
- Aerosols
For paint can, a maximum of ten 10L paint bucket containers will be accepted.
Anyone who wants to get rid of the old cans and bottles clogging up their sheds or cupboards needs to register beforehand online here: http://www.galwaycity.ie/haz-waste, and pay the €10 admittance fee.
No cash will be accepted at the entrance, and this is open to Galway City household residents only.
