Gardaí are investigating after €30,000 was stolen from a house in east Galway
A house in the Woodlawn area was broken into at approximately 5pm on Friday, December 14.
Roughly €30,000 was reportedly stolen from a safe in the house.
The house in Woodlawn was ransacked and damage was caused during the course of the theft.
No arrests have yet been made and the investigation is ongoing.
People are cautioned at this time of year to make sure their house is locked up tight in the run up to Christmas.
Not only are there more valuables in the house, but thieves are taking advantage of this time of year to conduct burglaries earlier as it gets darker.
