An Garda Síochana have said that investigations into an assault which took place at Eyre Square in Galway city last week are ongoing.
A man was walking through the area at around 3.30pm on Friday 4 March when the assault took place.
It is understood that the man was attacked by a group of people, but no arrests have yet been made.
However, Gardaí have said that they are following a definite line of enquiry in relation to the assault.
Any witnesses to the incident are encouraged to contact Gardaí.
