Gardaí are asking for anyone with information about a fatal crash that took place on the Monivea road yesterday afternoon to contact them.
A man in his 70s was killed yesterday when his car collided with a truck on the Monivea road.
The road traffic collision took place yesterday afternoon shortly after 1pm between Carnmore Cross and Briarhill junction.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to University Hospital Galway.
The driver of the truck is understood to have been uninjured.
The road was closed for a period yesterday to allow Garda Forensics Investigators to examine the scene but re-opened later in the day.
