Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses or people who may have information about a burglary at the Irish Cancer Society charity shop in the city.
On the evening of Friday, October 18 a burglary took place at the charity shop on Merchants Road shortly after 6pm.
“Some gold jewellery along with a large safe containing cash was taken in the raid,” a garda spokesperson said.
“The culprit kicked in the front door just after 6pm and spent some time on the premises. Galway Gardai are appealing for your assistance please.”
Gardaí are asking anyone who was in the vicinity of Merchants Road between 6pm and 9pm that day who may have information to contact them.
“Perhaps you drove down Merchants Road during those hours and may have a Dash Camera in your vehicle containing valuable footage.”
“The culprit would most likely had to have a vehicle and assistance to move such a heavy safe. Did you see persons acting suspicious in the vicinity during those hours?”
Anyone who may have information is asked to contact Garda Declan Murphy at Mill Street Garda Station on 091 538000 or email Gaillimh.Crime@garda.ie.
