Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses who may have information on the fatal three car crash on the M6 on Thursday afternoon to contact them.
A man in his 80s was killed when three cars travelling on the eastbound lane of the M6 were involved in a collision.
Two women, also injured in the collision, remain at University Hospital Galway today.
The collision happened shortly before 1pm at the junction of the M6 with the M17 motorway.
Gardaí investigating this three car crash are appealing to anyone who may have been travelling on the East or Westbound lanes of the M6 between 12.40pm and 1pm on Thursday August 12 and who may have witnessed this collision to make contact with them.
In particular Gardaí are appealing to any road users who were on the road during this period who may have video footage (including dash-cam footage) to make this footage available to Gardaí.
Three women, a passenger in the first car and the drivers of the other two cars, were also injured in the collision.
One of the women, aged in her 80s, the passenger in the same car as the man who was killed, suffered injuries which were described as serious.
