Gardaí are appealing for information after a 22-year-old woman was killed in a single vehicle crash in Co. Mayo yesterday evening.
The collision occurred at Corlough West in Belmullet on Friday at around 9.15pm.
The young woman was fatally injured when the car she was driving left the road and collided with a ditch.
She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to the mortuary in Mayo University Hospital where a postmortem will take place in due course.
Two passengers (both early 20s) in the car, a male and female, were removed to Mayo University Hospital to be treated with non-life threatening injuries.
The road was closed overnight and Forensic Collision investigators were conducting an examination of the scene this morning.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward and any road users with video footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to them.
