Galway Hospice and the Irish Wheelchair Association in Tuam are set to benefit from over €100,000 in funding for new vehicles.

Galway Hospice has been assigned €50,000 in CLÁR funding, which will go towards the purchase of an accessible vehicle for its patients.

In addition, the Irish Wheelchair Association in Tuam will receive €68,277 which will go towards purchasing an ‘accessible vehicle for people with disabilities’.

Independent TD Seán Canney expressed his delight that funding has been allocated to these vital services.

He also praised the ‘sterling service’ these organisations provide to people in need within the constituency.

The grants come under Measure 3B of the CLÁR funding, which concerns special transport needs.
