Galway Film Fleadh is now accepting submissions of short films for the 31st annual Fleadh coming up this summer.
On top of its big releases, Galway Film Fleadh has long championed a programme of short films that are a great way for emerging filmmakers to show their talent.
Every year the fleadh shows off over 100 short films across six days including dramas and documentaries, live action and animation, and everything in-between.
Last year the fleadh broke with a long standing tradition and is now inviting short filmmakers from the world over to submit their work, not just Irish artists.
This film festival is internationally recognised for the quality of the work and the artists that come through it.
Winners of the James Horgan award for Best Irish Animation and the Tiernan McBride Award for Best Irish Short Drama qualify for Oscar consideration without having to have a theatrical run.
The 31st Galway Film Fleadh will run from July 9 – 14 with film screenings, workshops, panel talks, and the opportunity to meet fantastic filmmakers.
The Film Fleadh accepts all types and genre of short film under 40 minutes, as well as picture-locked rough cuts.
The deadline for short film submissions is Friday, May 17 at 5pm, and the entry fee is €20. For further information or to submit a film, click here.Â
