Middle street in Galway city will be closed for two nights this week to facilitate works in the area.
The road will be closed from the junction with Abbeygate Street Lower down to where it meets Cross Street Lower.
Galway city counucil say that the road will be closed tonight and Wednesday night from 7pm to 6am the following morning.
Middle street is being closed to allow CCTV and cleaning works for Irish water to be done.
Local access will be maintained to Middle Street while the works are being carried out.
For other motorists, alternative routes will be signposted before works commence.
