A fire at the old AIB building at the bottom of Eyre Square this morning has been brought under control by the fire brigade.
Smoke filled the sky across the city as the fire raged after 10.30am today.
Several fire engines and Gardaà attended the scene and the fire was brought under control before midday.
Hardiman’s Galway on Twitter praised the fire brigade for controlling the blaze so promptly.
