Galway County Council has been allocated funding of €40,253 for a revised study and flood relief works at Roxborough, Kilchreest.
Galway East TD Seán Canney received confirmation from Minister Patrick O’Donovan that he has today approved the council’s application for funding.
He said that he is ‘delighted’ to see funding of this nature still being provided in Co Galway for minor flood relief works to help protect properties, houses and farmland.
“I want to commend Galway County Council for their efforts in applying for this much needed funding for Kilchreest and it will help alleviate flooding in this area,” he said.
“The Minor Works Scheme is a vital source of funding and I am delighted to see Galway benefitting from the revised scheme which I introduced when I was Minister for the Office of Public Works.”
