A weather warning has been issued for Galway and the west of Ireland with heavy rainfall and flooding expected.
The status yellow weather warning predicts heavy rainfall throughout Wednesday and into Wednesday night.
Accumulated rainfall of 25-40mm has been forecast by Met Eireann over the course of the day.
Localised flooding is likely as ground is saturated at the moment and river levels are high after a long spell of bad weather.
The weather warning has been issued for all of Connacht, along with Longford, Donegal, Clare and Kerry.
It will come into effect at 4am on Wednesday morning, and remain in force for the next day until the same time on Thursday.
Further scattered showers are forecast throughout Galway today, easing off into the night.
Temperatures tonight will reach lows of 3 degrees Celcius with moderate westerly winds.
