Flood relief works are due to take place in the coming months in the east Galway village of Clonfert.
Galway County Council has been allocated €90,000 or works to open and clean the existing open drain network at Clonfert
Galway East TD Seán Canney said that Minister Patrick O’Donovan has confirmed that funding has been approved been approved for the flood relief works.
“Galway County Council will carry out the works in the coming months and when complete will provide much needed protection from flooding in the Clonfert area”.
“I commend the Council on the work is accessing funding for this project and many similar projects throughout the County”.
The funding for this project is being allocated through the Minor Works Scheme by the OPW.
